Supporting Young People Leaving Care

This one-day programme will focus on providing practitioners with the skills and knowledge needed to support carers and young people at the time of transition from the care service to adult life. This course will have an emphasis on how to secure the future of young people who have been looked after.
This course is designed for all professionals who work with children and young people who have responsibility for integrated working in the context of leaving care.
Supervision Skills in Social Care

This series of 5 modular events developed by Positive Learning Ltd, is designed to explore the principles and practice of effective supervision in today's social care settings.
Progressing from the first event which provides an introduction to supervision and explores why effective supervision is so critical in today's social care. Each event then develops the knowledge and practice skills of managers and supervisors with the series finishing by looking at the development function of supervision and how to manage and keep up with the changing face of Social Care, group supervision and accurate monitoring and assessment of supervision programmes.
Effective Support for Foster Carers

We will explore particularly the challenges and issues when looking after children who exhibit difficult and challenging behaviour.

Responding to the Needs of Female Sex Workers

This one-day programme will focus on the complexity of needs and issues relating to street based sex workers in London and strategies to engage this client group into services.
It is based on the principles and practices of harm minimisation and around developing effective and empathic multi-disciplinary approaches to working with this vulnerable and challenging client group. This day is not a workshop on exiting strategies and it focuses only on adult female sex workers.
Chairing CP Case Conferences for New Chairs

It addresses the very specific skills, responsibilities and problems faced by Chairs of these case conferences, provides an opportunity to explore the dynamics of such multi-agency meetings and how to ensure effective anti-discriminatory practice in the context of the case conference.
